Views at Connemara Beach House

Location, location, location…

To the Sea

Beach View
Omey Island—accessible at low tide by foot or car—lies just beyond the sheltered deep-blue waters that wash upon your sandy beach. A currach may pass by, laden with a fisherman or two and their lobster pots. Further out and just below the horizon, the white triangular flash of a yacht sailing round Crow Island or on its way to the island of Inishbofin.

To the Mountains

Twelve BensIt may take a couple days to adjust to the beauty and tranquility of living on the very edge of Western Europe—especially when a rose & lavender or tangerine & crimson sunset peers into your windows at day’s end—but when you are settled, there are the massive round-shouldered 12 Ben Mountains, lakes, rivers and the desolate and hauntingly beautiful boglands of Connemara all begging your attention and nearly surrounding you.
